A proper, unashamedly eccentric, witty West End comedy, Breath of Spring is guaranteed to blow away the winter cobwebs! A stolen mink stole sets Dame Beatrice and her eclectic band of friends on a rollercoaster ride of adventure in fashionable 1950s London. High jinks come with a high chance of getting caught. But who wants to retire gracefully when you can live dangerously? With a sparkling comedy cast, this show is just too much fun to miss.

Chris Boardman, Greater Manchester’s Cycling and Walking Commissioner, has unveiled a ground-breaking plan to transform our region by changing the way we move. The Bee Network proposal is a vision to make Greater Manchester an easier place for people to get around on foot or by bike. The plan consists of more than 1,800 miles of routes and will be the largest joined-up system of walking and cycling networks in the UK.

In support of this ambition, the Mayor of Greater Manchester has allocated £160 million to the Mayor’s Cycling and Walking Challenge Fund (MCF).

As part of this initiative Trafford Council has been awarded funding from MCF to create Trafford’s first active neighbourhood in Flixton, Davyhulme East, Davyhulme West and Urmston.

Launch event

To kick-start the project, we are inviting you to attend a launch event on Thursday 23 January 2020 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at: The Venue, 15 Westbourne Rd, Urmston M41 0XQ,

Come and tell us about the changes, the approach and solutions that you would like to see in creating an active neighbourhood in Urmston.

We want your views to develop proposals for the project. Concepts may include improvements on upgraded crossings, improved signage, new networks for cycling and walking schemes and much more.

Key aims of the project:

  • More walking and cycling routes connecting communities
  • Fully segregated routes along some of the busiest roads
  • New crossings of busy roads or other physical barriers that divide communities
  • Prioritising the movement of people over vehicles
  • Environmentally friendly community spaces
