The Osmonds are coming to Urmston!!
The Osmond Brothers, pop icons from the 70s, who had hits with “Crazy Horses”, “Love me for a Reason”, “Let me in” to name just a few, will be appearing at Urmston Festival’s Party On the Pitch on Saturday 25th May.
The Party On the Pitch is taking place on both Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th May on the cricket pitch at Urmston Sports Club.
This performance will be one of the last times we will see Jay Osmond as he has announced his retirement from touring later on this summer.
Fans of the band will be able to re-live the 70s and sing along to their chart-topping hits!
The weekend promises to be one filled with live music and entertainment with the chance to see the internationally acclaimed band, The Bootleg Beatles, possibly the top Beatles tribute band around, alongside 90s band, Space, Tom Hingley’s Karpets, Stax of Soul, and some amazing tribute bands and local bands.
There will also be a second acoustic stage, showcasing Urmston’s own talented music artists.
The festival will be opened by Wayne Devlin and compered by Jonny Spangles, both local guys well known and admired in Urmston.
A selection of street food vendors, bouncy castles, glitter make-up and a stall for the charity Francis House Children’s Hospice, the charity supported by the festival , will create the real festival vibe.
There have been 14 months of hard work leading up to this festival but it’s looking like it’s going to be a great success, bringing live music to Urmston!

Ballads and Songs of Peterloo by Dr Alison Morgan is based on her unique collection of more than seventy poems and ballads which highlight the outrage, grief, defiance and resolution felt by labouring-class people in the immediate aftermath of the Peterloo Massacre in which eighteen people were killed and more than 600 injured as they listened to the radical Henry Hunt speak on the need for electoral reform.
Alison’s talk focuses on a selection of these poems and songs which were circulated in radical journals and performed at markets and in taverns, highlighting how they aimed to keep a true record of the day in the public consciousness and counter the official government narrative. The talk will be illustrated by audio recordings from musicians who have worked with Alison to bring these important and entertaining songs to life once more.
A free event. Book your tickets on Eventbrite.
